
Get a shaft that suits your swing and a driver than makes you happy and I'll bet your performance with it will be up to your capabilities. I'm not a low capper by any means and one that is may well put more of a premium on a particular driver that I do, but in my experience I can play well (or badly) with just about any decent driver. Ping makes great drivers and if you like it after hitting it I'd say it would be a great choice. Both had the stock stiff shaft, but after gaming the Dymo 3w I preferred the feel of the shaft in it, so I traded in my old driver for the Dymo with the same shaft. I've been gaming Nike drivers for about 18 months and I've been very happy with the choice. To me what is more important is finding one that suits your eye at address with a shaft that fits your swing. I do think the name brands are better than knock offs or inexpensive clones, but among the top brands one is pretty much as good as another. I personally don't think there is much difference between name brand drivers.
